COMMUNITY GROUPS
Friday the 13th wasn't bad
by Dallas Owens
The Cleveland Lesbian-Gay Community Service Center dispelled the myth about Friday the 13th being an unlucky day by holding a successful dance and fundraiser at the U4ianightclub. The event was attended by approximately. 150 community members, and raised over $1,000 to benefit Center programs.
The Center would like to thank Lou and the staff at U4ia for making this event possible. The Center would also like to thank the DJs for the evening, Deb and Randy, the
LESBIAN GAY Community Service Center
Hors d'oeuvres and a diverse selection of music were provided throughout the evening. Door prizes were awarded each hour, as well as a raffle drawing near the end of the evening. Dancing, conversation, and pool playing filled the evening with enjoyment, and a member of the PRYSM youth group performed a short presentation. A sober support area was also available.
OF GREATER CLEVELAND
Cleveland Play House, the Inn on Coventry, Body Language, Gifts of Athena, Heart to Heart, Grand Poo-bas, Red Star Cafe, the Gay People's Chronicle, Valentine News, Sweet Bean Coffee Shop, and all of the volunteers who helped make this a successful event.
And a special thanks to all of the people who came out and supported this event. It was nice to see couples twosteppin,' swinging to Glenn Miller tunes, rocking to the "Duke of Earl," and "gettin down" to some good old '70s disco. We appreciate your support and hope we can do this again soon.
